Auto X /status: Check Your Plan, Renewal Date and AI Usage in Telegram (2026)
What does /status show in Auto X?
The /status command is a read-only summary of your account in the Auto X Telegram bot. It shows your plan, whether your X account is connected, when a paid plan renews, and how much of your limits you have used this period. Pay as you go users also see a running estimate of this month's charges. Nothing in it changes your account, so you can send it as often as you like.
What you see depends on your plan, because each plan has different limits. This page shows what every line means, which limits reset when (all in UTC), and what to do when a line says something you didn't expect. If you want the plans side by side, they are on the Auto X homepage.
How to read /status line by line
The reply is a short list of lines. The first one is always the plan, and the rest appear only when they apply to you.
| Line | What it means | Who sees it |
|---|---|---|
| Tier | Your plan: Free, Pro, Ultra Text, Ultra Image, Ultra Video or Pay as you go | Everyone |
| X account | The @username Auto X publishes to, or "Not connected" | Everyone |
| Subscription | The status of your subscription, such as active or past_due | When you have a subscription |
| Renews | The date your plan renews, shown only while the subscription is active | When you have an active subscription |
| Media posts this month | How many posts with an image or video you have used out of 10 | Free |
| Top posts last synced | When Auto X last read your top posts from X, or "never" | Ultra and pay as you go |
| AI text today | Daily AI text generations used out of 20 | Ultra and pay as you go |
| AI images today | Daily AI images used out of 5 | Ultra Image and above |
| AI video this month | Seconds of AI video used out of 150 | Ultra Video and pay as you go |
Pay as you go has the same feature access as Ultra Video, so it sees the same AI lines. It also gets its own block, covered below, because it is billed by usage instead of a fixed monthly price.
Which limits reset when
Every counter in Auto X resets on the UTC clock, not on your local time or your billing date. That is the detail most people get wrong when a limit seems to come back "early" or "late".
| Limit | Resets |
|---|---|
| Free media posts (10) | Start of each calendar month, UTC |
| AI text (20) and AI images (5) | Midnight UTC, every day |
| AI video seconds (150) | Start of each calendar month, UTC |
| Pay as you go usage | Start of each calendar month, UTC |
If you live in Italy, UTC midnight is 1:00 or 2:00 in the morning depending on the season, so the daily AI limits come back while you are asleep. The Free plan's 10 media posts are posts with an image or video, and text-only posts do not use them. Free scheduling also has a 7-day horizon, so /status will not show a problem there, but the bot will refuse a date further out.
What the AI lines count
The AI lines show quotas, and each AI command counts a little differently. The details are in our guides to /ai text drafting from your top posts, /ai image and /ai video. In short: images count only when one is made successfully, and video seconds are counted when a job starts, so a regenerate still uses 6 seconds.
If /ai image says generation is not available on your tier, /status will confirm it: the AI images line is simply missing, because Ultra Text does not include images. The same goes for video below Ultra Video.
The top posts lines
Paid AI plans learn your voice from your own best-performing X posts. Auto X reads your original posts from the last 90 days, ranks them by engagement rate, and keeps the top 40. /status tells you how that went with one of these lines:
- Top posts stored: N. The sync worked and N posts are available as style examples.
- Top posts sync: no original posts found. There was nothing to learn from. Replies and reposts are left out of the sync, so a new or quiet account can land here.
- Top posts sync: failed. The line adds the start of the error message, for example when no X account is connected.
- Top posts last synced: never. No sync has run yet. The bot treats any sync older than 7 days as stale.
Pay as you go: the usage block
Pay as you go has no base fee. Instead of a fixed price, /status shows the rates and what you have used this month so far:
| Item | Rate |
|---|---|
| Post published | €0.001 each |
| AI text | €0.006 each |
| AI image | €0.025 each |
| AI video | €0.055 per second |
Below the rates is a count of each item for the current UTC month and an estimated charge. The estimate is the counts multiplied by the rates, shown without tax, and the final amount is on your Stripe invoice. A 6-second video clip works out to €0.33, and a month with 100 published posts and 10 AI texts comes to about €0.16 before tax. Checking /status on the last days of the month is the easiest way to avoid a surprise.
Troubleshooting with /status
Most "it doesn't work" questions about plans can be answered in one look at the reply. Here is a short method for it.
The 4-line status check
- Read the X account line. If it says "Not connected", nothing will publish. Send
/connectand finish the X authorization. - Read the Tier line. If a feature is refused, check that your plan includes it. Loops need Pro or above, AI text needs Ultra Text or above, images need Ultra Image, and video needs Ultra Video or pay as you go.
- Read the Subscription line. A status of past_due means a payment failed. The
/subscribescreen says the same: update your payment to stay active. - Read the usage line for the feature you tried. If it is at the limit, the counter resets at the UTC time in the table above.
If all four lines look right and a post still didn't go out, the cause is usually on the publishing side. Our list of 8 reasons a scheduled post did not post on X covers those.
What /status doesn't do
/status only reads. It does not change your plan, and neither does /subscribe on its own: that command shows upgrade buttons and opens Stripe Checkout. Auto X plans renew monthly in euros through Stripe, and to cancel a paid plan you use the Stripe customer portal. Once a subscription is no longer active, the Renews line stops appearing.
To see what is waiting to publish, use /queue instead. It lists your upcoming posts with a cancel button for each.
FAQ
Does /status cost anything or use my limits?
No. It only reads your account and counts nothing against any limit, including pay as you go usage.
Why does my AI limit come back at a strange hour?
AI text and image limits reset at midnight UTC, and AI video and pay as you go usage reset at the start of the UTC month. Local time and billing date don't matter.
Why don't I see an AI video line?
The AI video line only appears on Ultra Video and pay as you go. Ultra Text shows the AI text line, and Ultra Image adds the AI images line.
Is the estimated charge on pay as you go my final bill?
No. It is an estimate without tax. The final amount is the invoice Stripe sends at the end of the billing period.
Why is the Renews line missing?
It only shows while the subscription is active. If it is missing on a paid plan, look at the Subscription line to see the status Stripe reports.
