How to Write an X Post with AI from Your Top Posts in Telegram: Auto X /ai text (2026)
How do you write an X post with AI from your own top posts in Telegram?
In Auto X, send /ai text to the bot and tap From top posts. Auto X looks at your own original X posts from the last 3 months and ranks them by engagement rate. It then asks Grok to write one new post in your style, inspired by the themes of your best performers. You get a draft with four buttons: Approve, Regenerate, Edit and Cancel. Once you approve it, choose Schedule once to pick a date and time, or Add to loop to drop it into an existing rotation. Nothing is posted until you approve a draft and pick a destination.
AI text is part of Auto X's Ultra plans, so you need an Ultra subscription and a connected X account. This page explains each step, how the bot picks your "top posts", and the checks we suggest before you approve an AI draft.
What you need before you start
| Requirement | Why it matters | How to check |
|---|---|---|
| An Ultra plan (Ultra Text or higher) | AI generation is only on Ultra. Free and Pro don't include it | Send /ai. Commands you can't use yet are marked with the plan they need. Upgrade with /subscribe |
| A connected X account | The bot reads your recent posts and later publishes on your behalf | If you aren't connected, the bot replies "Connect your X account first with /connect" |
| Original posts in the last 90 days | "From top posts" only learns from your own recent posts | If there are none, the bot says so and suggests From query |
| Quota left today | Each plan has a daily AI text limit | The first message shows "Quota today: used/limit" |
| A loop, if you want one | Add to loop appends to an existing rotation | Create one first with /loop create |
New to the bot? Start with how to schedule X posts from Telegram, which covers /start, /connect and the basic /schedule flow. Everything below builds on it.
Step by step: /ai text with From top posts
- Send
/ai text. The bot shows your quota for today and asks how to create the post. You can choose From top posts, From query or Cancel. - Tap From top posts. The bot replies "Generating draft from your top posts (last 3 months)…" and, a few seconds later, sends a draft.
- Review the draft. Tap Regenerate for a different take or Edit to send your own corrected text. Approve accepts it and Cancel stops the flow.
- Choose a destination. Schedule once publishes the post one time. Add to loop appends it to an existing post rotation.
- Pick a time (Schedule once). Type a date and time as
YYYY-MM-DD HH:MMin UTC, or use a quick option: In 1 hour, In 3 hours or Tomorrow 09:00 UTC. The time has to be in the future. - Keep going or finish. After a successful post the bot offers another draft while you still have quota. Tap Done or send
/donewhen you're finished.
You can abort at any point with /cancel_ai. If you start another flow while one is open, the bot reminds you that an AI flow is already in progress.
How Auto X picks your "top posts"
"Top posts" has a specific meaning in Auto X. It comes straight from the code that powers the feature:
- Only your own original posts. The bot requests your timeline from the X API with replies and reposts excluded, looking back 90 days and reading up to 500 posts.
- Ranked by engagement rate. For each post the bot adds up likes, reposts, replies and quotes, then divides by impressions. If impressions aren't available, it uses the raw engagement count. Ties go to raw engagement, then to impressions.
- A pool of 40. The top 40 posts are stored for your account. Each draft uses a random sample of 8 of them as style examples, which is why Regenerate gives you noticeably different drafts.
- Refreshed weekly. The pool is treated as stale after 7 days and refreshed the next time you use the feature.
Ranking by rate rather than raw likes means a post that did well with a small audience can outrank one that went wide by luck. The metric names (like_count, retweet_count, reply_count, quote_count and impression_count) are the public metrics X documents for its API. The prompt asks for "one new original X post in this author's style". It is not a copy of an old post.
From top posts or From query: which to use
| From top posts | From query | |
|---|---|---|
| What you type | Nothing. The bot uses your recent best posts | A topic or short brief, such as "launch reminder for Friday's webinar" |
| Best for | Keeping a steady voice on days you have no idea ready | Announcements, dates, offers, anything new |
| Needs | Original posts in the last 3 months | A clear brief with the facts you want included |
| Watch out for | Drafts that echo an old post too closely | Details the model can't know, like prices or dates you didn't give it |
Many accounts use both: top posts for evergreen material that suits a recurring loop, and From query for anything time-bound.
Schedule once or Add to loop?
Schedule once is the simple path. The approved text goes into your queue for the time you pick, and you can review or cancel it later with /queue. Add to loop appends the post to one of your existing loops, which republish posts on a daily, weekly or every-3-days rotation. If you don't have a loop, the bot tells you to create one with /loop create or to schedule the post once instead.
Two cautions about loops and AI drafts. First, X treats repetitive, near-identical posting as a problem, and an AI draft inspired by your top posts can sound a lot like posts already in your loop. Read it next to the loop's other posts before adding it. Second, rotating a time-sensitive draft makes it stale fast. Our page on what X's automation rules allow explains where scheduled and repeated content stands.
Five checks before you tap Approve
- Is every fact true today? The model writes from your old posts and your brief, not from live data. Check names, numbers, dates and links.
- Is it too close to an old post? If it reads like a reworded copy of last month's hit, regenerate or edit it. Our guide to duplicate-content guards explains why near-duplicates are risky on X.
- Does it sound like you? Cut phrases you would never use. Edit is quicker than several rounds of Regenerate.
- Does it fit the length? X counts some characters, such as emoji and links, differently. Keep a margin if you plan to add a link.
- Does the timing suit your audience? Times are in UTC. Convert from your local time before you type it, and check how the post fits your posting cadence.
Limits and messages you might see
- "AI text requires Ultra Text or higher." Your plan doesn't include AI. Use
/subscribeto upgrade. - "Daily AI limit reached." You've used today's AI quota. Quotas reset daily (video is counted monthly, in seconds).
- "Slow down — try again in …s." The bot allows up to 8 AI starts per minute.
- "No top posts found yet for your X account (last 3 months)." Use From query, or reconnect X and try again later.
- "Generation failed." The AI service returned an error. Try Regenerate, or
/cancel_aiand start again.
Honest limits: Auto X is a Telegram bot by GSPTeck, not an official X product. AI drafts can be wrong or bland, and you're responsible for what you approve. The bot doesn't fact-check drafts for you.
FAQ
Does Auto X post AI drafts without my approval?
No. A draft only goes into your queue or a loop after you tap Approve and choose Schedule once or Add to loop. Cancel or /cancel_ai discards it.
Which posts count as my top posts?
Your own original posts from the last 90 days, with replies and reposts excluded. They're ranked by likes, reposts, replies and quotes divided by impressions, and the top 40 are kept as style examples.
Can I edit the AI text before it is scheduled?
Yes. Tap Edit under the draft and send the corrected text. Your version is what gets scheduled.
Which plan do I need for /ai text?
An Ultra plan: Ultra Text or higher. Free and Pro plans don't include AI generation. Send /subscribe in the bot to see the options.
